A Day with the Boys (and girl)

These boys have been signed up for a baking auction, NOT of their choosing.
The rule is they have to bake "anything" of their choosing, with no help from the ladies,
and
it has to be from scratch.
(As you will notice, Gabriel's isn't exactly from scratch, but for him, it's scratch!!)
Here we go.
They've been outfitted by the ladies and the rest is up to them.

They've been in the kitchen about an hour by now...
Getting bored?"What am I gonna do now, I can't even read the recipe!"
1. Why is he using the stovetop, when we have 2 empty counters?
2. Who is going to clean up this mess when he's finished?
3. Who's idea was this!!?? He's happy now, now that it's been 2 hours and he's seeing some progress
with this "boxed" cheesecake :)
(You would think it was made from scratch or something)
Gettin a little sidetracked, I'd say.
A cowboy's life is NOT in the kitchen.
(Atleast not this one.)

FLORIDA RAPIDS

You didn't realize rapids were in Florida,
Well, let me tell you........
they are now.
Just a little cooling off in the 100 degree weather in October.
"Tom, turn down the pressure!!"
This is too much fun.
(You can usually find Mary with the boys.)
The banks of this river are about to overflow.
Awww
See y'all down river.

Hello Matt,
Well, the chocolate covered okra was a big hit and everybody ate it up. Do you ever get any?

We're looking forward to your fun "patrol" party. Only two more weeks, yay!!

100 degrees in October?! I am trying to find winter clothes for my poor children! Looks fun though, wish we were there!

Love the pics of the cooks in the kitchen. Ever wonder why they call it a chuck wagon?

Looks like things just got "chucked" together.....ha!
What were the results???

Reynolds, Well, the results were a "sideways" pear cobbler, Strawberry cheesecake (boxed) and chocolate covered okra!!! Actually they brought alot at the auction. I think there was mercy involved in the bidding, what ya think?

Miss y'all, wish you were here too.

What fun! I always wanted a natural waterfall in my yard - that was pretty close (if you just didn't have to pay that water bill and it would somehow continue to flow on its own!)
How did the desserts turn out?
I am sure (?) they were delicious!

Love,
Mrs. Stricklen
