February 2011

Springtime is officially here in Florida.
We are loving it and so are the bees.

Pear blossoms are in full bloom.

Oats are coming along nicely.
"Save 50% or more by switching to Geico."
The sweetest smell in the world,
Orange Blossoms.
And Orange Blossom honey is the sweetest taste :)
Now all we have to do is find a way to get to the sweet honey.
(Any suggestions?)
A rose among the thorns.
Great way to give your kids a bath!!
J/K (maybe)
Hang on, Jon!
-----------------------------------------
Antique Shopping
Granny took the girls on an all-day antique
shopping trip for their birthdays.
So many possibilities with so much junk.

As I said, so many possibilities.......
(This used to be a rusty old file cabinet, but now...)
------------------------------
Music
Campfire, Singing, Playing, Friends, Family,
It's a good life.

.....Singing and making melody in your
heart to the Lord.
Ephesians 5:19
Whip-Popping

One of Liv's February creations.
---------------------
February Projects
Re-finishing
and painting.
-----------------------
Fun
What is Ariana doing to Liv?
A Facial, of course.
(Isn't that what everyone does in the hot tub?)
Quenching her thirst with a little ink!!
(We told you she was strange.)
------------------------------
Late Night Games

"This is NOT going the way I planned!"
"Is she stealing or is she the banker?"
Somebody's racking in the dough.
"Please big brother, have mercy on me, please!!"
---------------------------
Birthdays for February
Mary, Mary and Jon.
Aunt Mary and Jon share a birthday and Mary's is
only 2 days before, so they celebrate together.
The man that wears many hats, literally.
The brothers don't have a clue what the sisters do.
(Such a poet am I.)
-------------------------------
The Garden
The girls have decided to make a peaceful garden sanctuary.
Here's the making of it, so far........
This old pallet will be a tiered shelf that holds flowers.

Mary, the water girl.

This WAS an old rusty wagon in the old equipment graveyard.
But it will soon become a ..........

Flower Bed.
I LOVE THIS.
The flower girl, potting flowers.
(I know you never would've figured that one out.)
:)
The fountain.
(We had this old bathtub that's been in the cow pasture for several years, and this old pitcher pump that's been under the house for several years,
so they put it together to make a fountain.)
I LOVE THIS
(Oh, and the windows came from a yard sale for $5.)
These flowers we bought from Lowes during the winter
for a few cents a piece and look at 'em now.
Old rusty iron table that was sanded and painted.
(It was found on the side of the road.)
Notice the white table by the doors. That was the pallet.
The doors were out of an old house on one of the properties.
Scripture is painted on the wall.
(The girls asked if they could paint on the outside wall. I
wasn't sure what they were gonna do,
but I told them to go ahead, anything
would be an improvement.
I had no idea this is what they were going to paint.)
I LOVE IT
The garden's not finished, yet, and I can't wait to see what they do next.
That's February in a nutshell.
Now I'm off to sit in my garden. :)
Happy March to ya .....

Oh, my goodness! Where do I start?!?
Wow!
Love, love, love the pictures of fruit tree blossoms! Our peach trees now are loaded with fruit, but I enjoyed those blossoms about a month ago. One plum tree still has its blossoms the other is full of young fruit and the apple trees still have pretty blossoms. Our pear trees are just now blossoming also :)
Of course, nothing is better than an orange blossom!
Such pretty pictures. And that hive is so neat - I hope you can safely retrieve the honey?

We tried growing oats in our pastures, but it isn't doing too well - any hints?

The kids look like they are having a blast on that trampoline!

I LOVE antique junk shopping - so much potential there! This is great!!

Good to see the kids still singing and playing - we'll have to get together so we can hear them! Gotta butcher Wilbur sometime!

Olivia is amazing with her cake decorating!

Chris had a February birthday also. He is the only one in our immediate family. They sure do grow up!

Your garden area turned out SO LOVELY!!! You should be so proud of your girls - they constantly amaze me with their creativity. What a blessing they are to your family. I know you will enjoy that beautiful and relaxing area. And I also love how they painted that Scripture.
God bless y'all!
I enjoyed the post.
Love,
Molly

The trampoline looks like an ideal way to let kids take a bath! I know my kids would vote for it.

The garden is wonderful, so creative and thrifty! It looks beautiful, and the scripture verse is a perfect addition. I love all the re-using of what others would think of as junk. Your girls are truly becoming virtuous women!

Love,
Katie
