After cutting the trench around the property
and moving all the equipment,
it's time for some fire.
:)
Burning the hay field puts potassium in the soil,
de-thatches the grass
and kills those pesty little critters.
500 acres about to go up in flames!!
All you could see in all directions was a huge wall
of fire and smoke.
It was pretty amazing to see.
The keys got locked into one of the vehicles,
so it was a rush trying to get a spare key,
get in and get it moved as the fire was racing toward it.
All vehicles safely away from the fire,
at least for now.
Time for the fireside chat 'n' picnic.
Good times.
Thanks ladies for the Delicious Food.
Good friends, sweet fellowship, amazing views.
It's a great day.

The next Day
Going to make sure the fires are still all out.
(You know how they like to start back up when you're least expecting it!)
Not a pretty sight,
but it will be soon!!
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence,
literally.
This well toasted cactus looking palmetto will come right back to life,
unfortunately!!
Looks like a barren wasteland,
but looks are deceiving.
If only we could see what's happening under that blackness.
The Survivor
A storm rolling in at the perfect time.
Oat field looking wonderfully rich.
I'm sure that's what the cows will be saying in a few weeks :)
That's all for now.
See you next time.

FIRE!!! How exciting and BRAVE of you! 500 acres! Wow! Can't imagine. I bet the "vehicle in peril" adventure was quite harrowing. I know you'll have wonderful pasture soon as a result of the fire. Good job, Pollock clan!
