Matt's 6th Birthday Party

Time for.....

PATROL

(Cousin) Matt decided to have a military (patrol) party since that is his
favorite thing to do with Gabriel and the littles.

Cake Lady Liv was chosen to make the cake.

This one was one of her favorites to make.

(The cup and paper on the table inside the barracks, are made out of play dough)

Finished (minus the tank coming up the hill, added later.)

We're Ready...

The were divided into four teams.

The teams had to go to each post where a flag was and do what the instructions commanded.

You had to stay at that post until the mission was completed.

Each member of the team had to complete the task.

This command was....

1. Run to the end of the field.

2. Fill your cup with water.

3. Run back without spilling it.

4. Drink it all without using your hands.

(It was harder than it sounds.)

Liv checking on how the other troops are progressing.

This was the last flag before going to the swampy woods. Here comes headquarters.

After all the commands were accomplished, the troops were to head to the swamp.

Their mission was to find 26 of their POWs and bring them home safe.

(The day before we had hid 26 army men of 4 different colors, one for each team, in the swamp.)

They had an hour to find them all and return home.

The team with the most rescued POW's wins.

This task was not easy!! It took determination and obedience to the voice of each troop's Sargent.

They also needed to be able to keep the whereabouts of the

POW's hidden from the other troops.

I think he's on to something.

The X represents that within 10 feet of the X, is where the Prisoner camp is.

"Must be here, somewhere, but where?!"

(Even with the X, it was difficult.)

Another clue

It's getting dark, so hunting will be much harder.

The yellow flies were attacking on all sides, but at least we only saw one

Cotton Mouth Moccasin.

(The gators stayed in the water.)

Looking high and low.

"Hurry! Time is running out."

The birthday boy at the end of the patrol.

"Good job soldier."

Time is now up and the troops are heading in.

Just plain tuckered out!!

There were two teams that found 22 POW's.

The tiebreaker is.....

First to untie the 8 knots in the rope, wins.

(It was between Gabriel and Liv's team. Liv's team won by a hair (or a knot):)

(Aunt Lee, Haley and Sommer.)

Sam

Sam has discovered the edible trees.
Thanks Matt, Aunt Mary and Uncle Jimbo.

It was a great "Patrol" Party.

Can't wait for the next one.

Happy Birthday, Matt! That sure looks like a lot of fun, but the thought of the snakes and alligators are sending shivers down our spines. : )

THANK YOU All,
Awesome patrol party, we could'nt have succeeded without our faithful comrades. To name a few, appaluse goes out to Aunt Lee and Aunt Tina for hidding our 27 P.O.W's. Olivia gets a standing O for one unbeatable cake. Christiana the medal of honor for the jam up cupcakes. Gabriel gets the admiration of the young men in his patrol team. Outstanding job to the many others who helped with setup, food and clean up.
Lot's of LOVE,
M&M
