Do what we can, summer will have its, flies? Hmm...

Welcome Blogosphere followers and random citizens...

I can't really think of any "opening" words so....

(:Enjoy the pictures:)

-Beach Trip!-

June:/

A while back Daddy took us kids to the Ocean

for the evening to do some swimming and fishing:)

It was a blast(as always)!!

Off to the sea to see what they can...catch
"And as you can see to the front of the screen, Two tackle boxes,
most likely used by natives in the early 1400's..."
Mays more than likely running from sharks.... :o
Sheer Happiness!
The mighty fisherman !

Jonathan digging to China.

;)

A picture worth a thousand words...

I'll let you figure out what they are:What can I see in the deep blue sea?

(Oh my, these comments are pathetic!)

-The Crab-
Here my friends is the epic and heart breaking story of Chester the

"Oceano Atlantico Caranguejo"

Translation:Atlantic Ocean Crab

This is when his life fell to disaster...

Poor Chester was captured by SOUCFTOW!

(Strangely Odd Unknown Creature From The Outside World)

And things just got worse when

another SOUCFTOW decided to have him for lunch =:o
"I will begin by pinching off his claws...."

Luckily for our dear friend Chester The "Strangely Odd Creature From The Outside World" decided to spare his life... Only to think of something more creative to do with him!

Curiouser and Curiouser the SOUCFTOW wondered what to do...
In the meantime, Chester decided to defend himself

by chomping off the SOUCFTOW grasping things, (aka: fingers)!!!!

Only to his dismay... He was transported to a more secure SOUCFTOW...

The strangest thing happened next....

They let him go!Back to his natural habitat...aww

Chester often remembers still to this day the horror he

went through on that particular afternoon.

And yes my friends, he is safe and sound:)

-THE END-

-Random Things Around-

-The Homestead-
Yes, This is James randomly about to munch down on a half ripe tomato...

Cause you know what they say.."Half ripe tomatoes are the best kind" Sweet James

Garden Goodness, With some kind of vine draped over it...

(Probably poisonous or highly toxic!) I would say this is a random view for the typical tomato plants.

-The Chimney Sweep-

One of our dear friends the chimney sweep flew out of the chimney into the house... So what to do but Catch it!! This here is a close up of my awesome pointer finger...

Unfortunately this picture doesn't do it justice, If I just had of tilted it a little to the right...

-INSECTS- A wasp

(No kidding!)

Our swallowtail caterpillars!

A couple weeks ago we found our dill weed covered with over 50 swallowtail caterpillars!

First we thought we would catch 'em and feed 'em to the chickens... But then we decided they might turn into some awesome looking butterfly...So we took the 42 that were left and put them in our terrarium to watch them grow:)
They eat... Parsley, Dill, Carrot Tops, and Fennel.

This is the end result:) Awesome...

Unfortunately after two weeks they ALL died at the same time in one night... The young ones and the old ones:(We still don't know why... Oh well, we tried.)
Well, I hope this was a satisfactory post of your liking:)

Have an awesome week and don't forget to come back soon for more summer happenings;)

You're kidding - we had a chimney swift in our house the other night, and Emily caught it just like you did!! Unfortunately, the camera was with my husband in Virginia, where he was on a job interview. We are probably moving down there in just a few weeks.

Pam, I'm excited about y'all moving to Virginia. You're getting closer :) We love Virginia. Actually, we'll be there the first of September visiting.

Hope you're staying cool this summer. We're NOT, but that's how life goes here. I'm not complaining even though it sounds just like it.

Blessings to your family,

Tina

You're going to be in VA...Might as well come a little farther to OH so we can actually meet you! :)

Audrey,
We would love to meet you and your family, but it's only gonna be the boys on this trip!! One of these days, though. And, BTW, if you're ever down in these parts let us know, ok? We'd love to have you.

I am a little bit jealous of your garden goodness! Here in TX we are in a drought and can't really plant much of anything anyway because the soil is like clay. Enjoy your abundance while I go pay $2 a lb for it at the grocery store! :) haha.

Jenna, It makes us cringe, too, when we have to pay outrageous prices for beef and we raise beef cattle!! But when you run out, and all you have in the freezer is hogs, you just do what you have to do. Maybe some of these hurricanes will bring you some rain soon, like it's doing here.
We'd be glad to share our harvest with you if you didn't live 1000 miles away :)
