The Perishing Peas and Overflowing Okra

The last of the Peas,
The shelling is now through,
We can rest with ease,
And away the peas flew :)

Rest With Ease?
It's all a lie,
For instead of Peas,
It's Okra, why?
WE DON'T KNOW !!!

Acres upon acres.Art by: Ariana

(If you've ever wondered why we have so many pics.

It's because Ariana really enjoys her camera :)Some parts of the field are almost 6 ft. tall.

(It's nice shade for the littles and more misery for the bigs.)Liv trying to cool off the already wet (with sweat) gloves.

Why are gloves needed for picking okra?

The same reason you don't put bare hands in insulation. How long is this okra going to keep reproducing????????Tom and Jon are the drink providers. And that's a very necessary job in this heat with long sleeves and gloves.Ahhhh, todays work in the field is done. Now starts the work in the house.Packing for the market......And canning for the future.

(When we wish that we still had okra to pick.) Lots of garlic and dill.

73 jars (so far) of Mmm, Mmm, Goodness!!
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages,
world without end. Amen
Eph. 3:20, 21
Thank you, Lord, for your abundant blessings.

I can't believe the amount of okra! What does canned okra taste like? Do you heat it up once you open the jar?

Ignorant but wanting to learn... :)

What does canned okra taste like? Well, like nothing else. It has
Apple Cider Vinegar, Garlic, Jalapenos and Dill Seed. So if you mix that all together in your mind and add a little okra, then you'll taste it. You just eat it out of the jar like pickles and it's oh so good :) We also put alot of okra in the freezer and now we're about to can stewed okra and tomatoes. If you lived close, I would be glad to share some with you or we could can together!!

May the Lord Bless you,
Tina
