Germany, Cukes and Picks

 Hallo
Heißen Sie willkommen nach Deutschland
(Hello, welcome to Germany)

The ideal pretzel, as served in Germany, has a dark brown, crispy, salty crust, and inside a soft dough. It has a plump "body", and thin, crispy (not dry) crossed "arms."
I don't know how they taste in Germany,
but they're pretty awesome at home in America.
We were all looking forward to this German meal,
since German food just happens to be one of our favorites.

James' turn to dress the part.
Don't remember what this German Chocolate cake was called,
but I know for sure is was delectable!!

 This game was hilarious.

Rules: Use one die. Pass the die around and everyone rolls once. When you roll a 6,
you are given the "Game Clothes" (consisting of a hat and mitts) that you are to put on.
Everyone keeps passing and rolling while you're dressing.  You are to try to untie the ribbon and open the gift only by using a spoon. When someone rolls a 6, you're turn is over and you pass everything to them. It keeps going until someone opens the gift,  that they get to keep.

Go, go, you've almost got it!!!
The winner :)

Hide and Seek, German style. (Blindfolded you have to crawl and search for the German hat with a present hiding underneath, by tapping a spoon on the floor. (No hands.)
Matt is the winner!!

Dank für Anschließen uns in Deutschland
(Thanks for joining us in Germany.)

CUKES and PICKS

We were blessed to be able to pick as many cukes as we wanted for one day, for FREE!!

Who can say no to that offer?!
Not us.

So we collected about 7 different recipes and started our "Experiment".

After 6 weeks, we'll do a taste test and the winning pickles will be made again :)
This handy dandy machine is a huge time saver.
And it just brings a smile to your face, ha ha. Actually she wasn't so happy
to see the camera, but she did muster up a smile. Thanks Liv.
The WORST part of canning is washing the jars. Always looking for volunteers, ha ha.
Anybody, anybody???
So many pickles, so little sleep ahead.
:)
Some of these picks are quite spicy...
And some are just plain HOT!!

We'll let you know how the taste testing goes in 6 weeks ;)

Chīfàn (Eat)

Welcome to"Cling Clangs" Chinese Restaurant.

Thomas had the Table Setting job this week. Good job, Tom.

qǐng bǎ zhèxiē yīfú xǐ gānjìng - hǎo ma (Translate: Could I have these clothes washed, please?)

Learning to eat rice with chopsticks!! You could lose some serious weight eating like this.

Having a "Fruit Ninja" competition on the Kinect. Appropriate for the Chinese theme, I think.

How many times can you slice the Pomegranate in 5 seconds?

Somebody just beat somebodies score. I won't name any names.

Brother and sister complete. Sister crushes brother!! Must be the robe.

Jeone and WonTon about to go head to head.
My, what slanted eyes you have, my dear.
Looks like somebody got a sour egg roll.
Matt making orange-tapioca pudding.

Ready to whip up some good Chinese eats.

Making Chinese Dumplings.

Fortune cookies made by Christiana. They tasted just like fortune cookies, but unfortunately the fortune got stuck in the cookies, so I guess we're all doomed, ha ha .
Great pic (without the camera hog in the back).

Uncle Tom showing some of the things he picked up while over in China  and at Splendid China when he taught English a few years ago.

-The Great Me'nash-

There once was a man named Me'nash...
He was an interesting man to say the least... Some looked in fright, and others in awe at the strapping strength he possessed. But though he was undoubtedly strong, he felt his awesomeness through his super "stash" that he so proudly enjoyed smoothing...:/
One fine day, Mr. Me'nash began to contemplate the fact that he was too awesome for this slow paced little town... He needed action!!! "I have all this cool stuff, and the sweetest looking stash for miles around, and nothing to do with it all...", he thought to himself.
At that instance, he began to hear rumbling in the trees above him! Trying to stay calm and collected, Me'nash glanced upward at the curious sounds...
"WHIPPY DEE!!!" He cried in a loud shout. "It's time to put all my awesomeness to use!"

So he got into his "Stance" ready for whatever was going to come out of the rustling tree...Big or small, He'd be ready.

 AHHH!!!

AHHHH!!!!

 AHHHHH!!!!!

The end is but a mystery to us all...
Some say it was to be a legend, some say a myth. It is up to you to decide the fate of the
Great Me'nash.

~THE END~
