Flour Power

The following are some rare pics of the Pollock men .....
They were making Delightful, Delectable Desserts for the "Men's Bake Auction".

The rules are that whatever you bake, it must be Homemade.

Tom, who actually likes to cook, made a good ole Banana Pudding.

One of our favorites.

(Sorry, no pic of the final product, but it was great, trust me!)

Dad, on the other hand, does NOT like to, nor does he know how to bake,

so as not to come empty handed to the auction,

he got a little help from the local Baker.

(But, he was disqualified :( We enjoyed eating the disqualified key lime pie. :) James really enjoying making Gingerbread Boys.

Coming along fine.

Cousins Matt and James.

(Matt joined the baking with Deliciously addicting "Friendship Bread".)

Haley came by to visit and things just got crazy!!

The power of flour was flying everywhere,

but hey, it's all about making memories :)

(Messes can always be cleaned up :)

This is some serious concentrating going on!! He's been in the kitchen for .......,

well let's just say the long hand has gone round a few times.

It's hard work making this "Homemade" dessert ;)

The finished product.

It's Baker Jon's turn.

What masterpiece will he create?

(One thing is sure. He WILL have fun doing it!)

He doesn't have a clue what he's doing,

do you think?

Or maybe he does.......Yep, I think he does.

Hope you enjoyed the "Power of Flour."

Be thankful for the spot you find at the end of the parking lot,
Because it means you are capable of walking:)

Summer in the Fall

This year we decided to plant late since the weather is so much nicer.
So the Summer/Fall garden consists of:
Watermelon
Peas
Corn
Squash
Okra
Sweet Potatoes
and Indian Corn for Thanksgiving.
As of this post, we are now picking squash and peas are coming soon.
Why do we start every farm post with repairing equipment???
Cause that's how we start every job!!

Testing 1...2....3

James has been begging the girls to make him some new
long "Daniel Boone" pants like these were, a looong time ago.

Mary, (or Maggie as Jon & James calls her),
Our littlest farm girl.

The Farm Patrol.

The fall garden is one of our favorite gardens,
because the weather is usually under 100 deg..

This year it's been in the 80's and soooo nice.

As the cold of snow in the time of harvest,

so is a faithful messenger to them that send him:

for he refresheth the soul of his masters.

James, our thirst quencher.

He's is in charge of making sure all the workers
have plenty of liquid to quench their thirst.

Sorry, Aunt Mary.
We tried, but pedicures and farming just don't go together.

This is real life.

Looks like we'll have food this winter.

:)

He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle,
and herb for the service of man:
that he may bring forth food out of the earth:...
Psalm 104:14
Thank you, Lord.

O God, thou art my God;
early will I seek thee:

O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy
name in all the earth!
who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

I have made the earth,
and created man upon it:

I, even my hands, have stretched out
the heavens,
and all their host have I commanded.

Praise Ye the Lord.
O give thanks unto the Lord;
for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
